"I've been working out for years, lifting weights, doing cardio and taking classes here and there. While I was not what anyone would consider overweight, I wanted to take my fitness to the next level and really improve my health as well as my overall appearance.

While most nutritional plans are boring and bland, Jem assured me I could eat a variety of foods, and love what I ate, and still get that lean physique I was searching for.  With hard work and a lot of support, I entered the Naturally Fit show in July 2012.  At 45, I was able to wear the smallest bikini I've ever put on, and walk confidently across that stage knowing that my hard work paid off.  And I placed second!

"Ever since my first figure competition i had been obsessed with food. I felt like i had to eat plain food and measure everything i ate. 

I looked good and i felt good and i wanted to stay that way. Obviously you can't maintain that physique and low body fat long term but you don't necessarily have to put all the weight back on either.

I learned from Jem that you can eat good food with flavor and  have sweet treats too... I let myself indulge without the guilt i used to have. I started training according to his workouts and with his advice on diet i am 5 weeks out from my next competition and i don't feel tortured or have the cravings i used to have.

Everything I learned about competition diet and training has changed! I am down from 145 to 132lbs and i am sitting at about 16% body fat!"

When I met Jem, I was running 3-4 days a week and doing body pump as well. I had tried many diets including the MY FIT foods 21 day challenge and still couldn't get the toned body I was striving for. 
Being a Mom of a two year old, I thought it was almost impossible to get into a "bikini" again and actually feel confident.  I was constantly consuming extra calories off her her plate and never counted my calorie intake. 

The best advice Jem gave me was after my first session. He said, "let my diet take care of the energy deficit I need to lose body fat and the workout be responsible for building lean muscle to look tone."  Once I applied this, the weight just came off. I lost 12.5 lbs in 7 weeks and went on a cruise with my best friend feeling completely confident in a bathing suit. 
Now I only train with Jem twice a week and his approach has given me so much extra time to be with my daughter!!  He has completely changed my understanding on how to get "toned" simply by "lifting something heavy!"

Thank you Jem Yeh for getting this bunny booty into shape toned&tight for my Playboy Mexico cover shoot 2 days ago! Some of my least favorite parts of my body are gradually becoming my favorites! I still have over a week until my 1st competition, but even if I weren't training for competition the process, knowledge, and self-discipline gained has been more than worth it! He is no b.s. like most I considered and ruled out and he explains why you need to do what you're doing and gives OPTIONS so you don't hate your life! 😊

Competition Update
2nd Place Bikini Debut and 3rd Place Bikini Open Class BπŸ‘™πŸ†πŸ’« I still can't believe it!!! It was my very first competition!!! I owe many thanks to my awesome trainer/nutrition planner Jem Yeh who was super attentive to my training needs the past 2 months and actually educated me on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and didn't just say "EAT THIS NOT THAT!"
Before working with Jem Yeh I was afraid to let go of my cardio brain and lift heavy.  I thought surely as many do that I would gain weight, look manly, or not enjoy my workouts.  Before he even had me change my diet, I started seeing things tighten and definition in areas I never had from simply weight training with only dumbbells at my apt tiny apt gym.  So that shows just how great Jem tailored things for me!

Tracking macros really made me opened my eyes to what I was putting in my body.   Jem taught me to pick satiating foods that still taste yummy with spices and have flavor that kept me full for hours.   Working out is now something I love more than ever, think how empowering it is to change your physical being not just the outside aesthetic but the inside too!

I’m so grateful for this lifestyle change and for putting up with my endless questions. It's intimidating sharing your flaws/concerns with a trainer but Jem really has a humble and laid back approach that will put you at ease and he never made me feel like my questions were stupid even if they were!  I can't wait to learn more, push harder, and get more trophies for the mantleπŸ˜„πŸ‘™πŸ†

BTW I met Jem for the first time at my competition yesterday…. this was ALL done online.  Hope I made a believer out of you guys who are on the fence, train now and thank me later :)

"Working with Jem for just six short weeks has completely changed the way I think about diet and exercise. Following his strength training plan 2x a week, is realistic for me because I am a single working mom.
I thought I would have to spend 7 days a week at the gym on a treadmill to be in great shape and I was always feeling guilty when I couldn't make it to the gym. Cardio is no longer another dreaded thing to check off my to do list, I just stay active and do things I enjoy like dancing and going to the trampoline park with my son. "Before Jem, I had the view that most people had on how to lose weight.  I became a cardio junkie and thought that's the only exercise to lose weight and lifting was only used to "bulk up".  About half way through my contest prep, I knew that something needed to change. I knew there had to be a better way to lose fat but still maintain muscle mass. Then I met Jem through another fellow competitor of mine. Jem couldn't have been more clear about what I needed to do.


He taught me how to boost my  metabolism to lose fat. Within the first two weeks, I noticed huge changes in my body composition. I ditched the cardio like Jem taught me and mainly focused on strength training to increase lean mass and strength.  Through Jem, Science became reality. It couldn't have made more sense!!!   And with Jem's help, I was able to place 1st in novice and 1st in open for my division, and qualifying for nationals in return!


Working with Jem has been such a blessing. I've learned that it is okay to indulge in my favorite treats as long as all my other macro needs are being fulfilled and I'm still learning that eating can be guilt free, all thanks to Jem!"

"It seems I've been receiving one blessing after another, like meeting Jem.  Since meeting him, my training is more effective and my results, more amazing.


When I first met Jem he mentioned I might think his tag line/motto was cheesy, but it is the most simple, yet brilliant thing I've ever heard. "Strength through knowledge", just brilliant!  He reminded me that putting in effort into learning about your body is probably the smartest thing you'll ever do.   Knowledge gives you the power to make right choices.  No one wants to pay a trainer for the rest of their life.  Jem teaches you to fish instead of giving you a fish.
